A QUICK REVIEW OF PURPOSEFUL NOURISHMENT
This is for the family that believes in home cooking with traditional ingredients.
This is also for the family seeking simplicity but healthful options.
Purposeful Nourishment will be available to pregnant people starting about the 32 week mark so there is adequate time for stress-free preparations. We aim to ride that magical nesting instinct for both practical prep (freezer meals) to fun but simple creations.
The items delivered are meant to create a foundation for your postpartum kitchen. The bundles offered aren't meant to be a strict, inflexible meal kit. Personally, we find those to be a bit wasteful, limiting and expensive. The packs will complement any kitchen with plenty of familiar and well sourced ingredients that offer flexibility. There will be some recipe cards to refer to but everything will be located in Postpartum Kitchen Database (this). The recipes are not only geared to feed the birth giver, there will be plenty of raw goods leftover to make easy, healthy options for the rest of the family.
This is a bit of a hybrid of personal shopping, professional nutrition, select farmers market offerings that will include raw, well-sourced, often local goods paired with postpartum recipes, pantry prep and postpartum guidance.
Be sure to take advantage of all the great resources available. Ask Meg for the full scope of offerings available to Purposeful Nourishment clients. While many of these are from local practitioners, many of the offerings are usable/active virtually where ever you are located. Lots of great education, information and support at your fingertips.
Lastly, this is not a diet, this is an eating approach. This is not specific to you - Holistic Nutrition advice. The role of Purposeful Nourishment / Small Batch Wellness is to bring attention to changes in lifestyle and diet changes to foster an increased state of balance and health. It is encouraged to seek professional medical advice regarding any illness, disease,or ailment participants may have. These are not intended to diagnose or treat disease. Any concerns on health, supplementation, dietary changes should be done in consultation with a healthcare practitioner.
This is an approach to eating that is geared to this truly unique timeframe in a birthing person's life. There is no other time in their life that mirrors what is happening in the postpartum body. This is meant to be a short lived (6 - 8 weeks) pathway with room for variety, flexibility and increased complexity.
